Scorecard

Horndon on the Hill Sunday Indoor X1 v Walton Hall on Sun 15 Jan 2006 at 10.00am
Horndon on the Hill Won 78 runs

A good win for new skipper Barry Stanley as both Liam & Willsy took the Walton Hall bowling apart and had put half of our score on the board in the first 4 overs. Bazza also batted well for his 28 not out to help post a very useful total which Walton Hall never looked like getting.
Willsy bowled well but without much joy and it was not until the introduction of Ted that the Walton Hall tail ever looked like giving up their wickets -- he took one with his first ball,a leg-side full bunger which mesmerised the bat into thinking he was playing outdoors, whereupon he whacked it straight to square leg,it came off the wall and he was caught the other side of the hall !
A middle stump removal and yorker LBW put paid to the last two and that was it,18 points in the bag.
A great start to the indoor season, especially since Orsett lost to Pegs in the next game,Brian Lawless' face was a picture ! Put that in the Thurrock Gazette, only this time on the local crime page (for masquerading as someone who knows something about cricket).
