Horndon on the Hill Won 1 run
A great win for the 2's chasing a decent total,which would have been a lot less if Crooksy hadn't been bashed in the last over by Matt Cairns for 31 runs!
Horndon did well to remove the dangerous Daryl Hymas early,but Danny Laird put on a few before going to a spectacular caught and bowled by Willsy off the ceiling. Cairns set about the Horndon attack quickly and retired on 25 but then the Pegs run-rate slowed dramatically as the boys kept the lower order hanging around,but Cairns came back for the last over to wreak havoc with Crooksy's bowling figures.
Horndon started reasonably well and were only 6 runs short of what Pegs were on after 6 overs. Walshy and Ted both went to run-outs but Barney rode his luck and bludgeoned the ball to the back wall to keep Horndon in touch,supported very well by "Mini-Clark". Needing 20 from the last 2 overs,Barney kept his head and whittled the total down to 7 runs from the last over,which became 2 from 3 balls eventually. Hymas bowled a no-ball with the scores level and the game was over with 2 balls to spare.
A win that keeps the 2's in contention and possibly top of the league at the moment (depending on the Grays result last night)
